SARPGANDHA

Is cure of high blood pressure, insomnia, Hysteria etc. It is naturally found in jungle area of chetisgarh & jharkhand.

Due to scarcity in jungle & excise demand in foreign market of, sarpgandha cultivation was started by common farmer.

CULTIVATION

Sarpgandha is of 18 months crop.

It needs sandy mud & is very productive.

Its sowing is done by seeds.

For sowing it is needed to have 2.5 to 3kg of seeds for nursery & are prepared there.

After 18 months it's roots are been taken out and are dried up.

The product for sales is after the roots are being dried up.

OUT PUT FROM SARPGANDHA:

Approximately 5 qnttl. Per acre of roots are being produced of which Rs. 80 to Rs. 90Kg. The farmer gets the rate approx Rs. 40000 is the turnover of the produced roots.

KALIHARI

6-month crop.

May to June is the sowing period.

Sowing is done by tubers up to 20000 tubers are needed.

After 6 months harvesting can be done.

400 Kg. Kalahari can be produced.

About 3500 are needed.

AEROMATIC PLANTS

MENTHA

INTRODUCTION: Menthe production is very suitable in the region like Madhya pradesh is a very successful too.

Where water supply is sufficient, Mentha successful and results in cultivation are good.


UTILITIES AND MARKET

Demand of mentha extracted oil and other and other products from mentha are not only in India market but also in international market.

Farmers can earn about Rs.25000 to Rs.35000 Net profit per acre in a year.

CULTIVATION

Firstly the land is prepared well.

The appropriate period of sowing is in the month of January - February.

For sowing you need to have roots/sackers of mentha.

About 150 Kg. of sackers are needed in One acre of land.

Once sowing is done you have to look out for water management. Mentha is safe from animals since no animal eats the plant.

No major deceases are found in mentha.

HARVESTING

Harvesting of mentha can be done three times in a year.
